Lake In The Hills Closes Village Facilities Amid Coronavirus

Village Hall and the public works building will remain closed through the end of the month due to coronavirus concerns.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL —Village officials in Lake in the Hills have closed all village facilities. The closures took effect Wednesday evening and will continue through the end of the month, village officials said.

The facilities include village hall, the public works department building and the LaBahn Hain House. In addition, all programs, events and rentals have been suspended through March 31.

Anyone who needs help with village service or has a question can call the village at 847-960-7400. Updates are also being posted on the village's Facebook page and website.

"These decisions have been made after careful consideration of the COVID-19 public health situation and its potential impact on our community," according to the statement posted on the Lake in the Hills Facebook page. "This will ensure we are in support of the social distancing recommendations provided by the WHO, CDC, IDPH, and MCDH and are in compliance with the mandates canceling meetings with 50 or more attendees recently issued by Governor Pritzker. Above all, it will help with the many efforts to slow the spread of this virus, putting the health and safety of our community first."
