Lake In The Hills Veterans Day Runway 5K Canceled
Organizers said low enrollment caused the cancellation, however some said they had difficulty signing up on the event's website.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Village of Lake in the Hills has announced that its Veterans Day Runway 5K has been canceled due to low enrollment. The event was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Lake in the Hills Airport.
Some Facebook commenters expressed their disappointment that they didn't sign up sooner, however others mentioned they didn't see a signup link on the event's website.
The event was created to give participants a chance to run on a fully functional airport runway. A post-race celebration was planned in one of the airplane hangars.
