Light of Christ Church, Hanson Road raises funds to begin construction of new building at Longmeadow and Sleepy Hollow Rds.

Algonquin, IL—On Friday, April 7, Light of Christ Lutheran Church kicked off its “Forward in Faith” Capital Campaign with a celebration dinner at D’Andrea Banquets in Crystal Lake. Over 250 members of the Light of Christ community were in attendance for this special event. Light of Christ Church is moving forward with plans to construct a new Church/Ministry Center at the corner of Sleepy Hollow Road and Longmeadow Parkway, with a fundraising goal of $3.6 million.
“Something good is happening here!” exclaimed Campaign Co-Chair Philomena Bruner in her opening remarks. “This is a very exciting time to be a member of Light of Christ. We are so amazed to see this level of enthusiasm not only from our members but also the surrounding community. Everyone wants to be a part of this new church.”
The evening continued with several short videos featuring members of the Light of Christ community sharing what the church means to them and why they are committed to ensuring that it continues to thrive into the future. Five charter members of the church were honored as well.
