LITH American Legion Wants Answers in Possible Hit-and-Run
Officials with the local legion post are hoping whoever struck a new sign at their Lake in the Hills location will come forward.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -A possible hit-and-run crash at the Lake in the Hills American Legion Post 1231 last week has members of the group hoping the driver will step forward to explain their actions. The Lake in the Hills Police Department is also investigating the incident, which ripped a new sign at the building, 1101 W. Algonquin Road, from the ground at some point between 10:30 p.m. on April 3 and 6 a.m. on April 4, the Northwest Herald reports.
“We feel it’s pretty disrespectful for someone to do that to this kind of a club,” Post Adjutant Jack Kamin told the Northwest Herald. “We help the community, and the community decided to knock our sign down.”
Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Lake in the Hills Police Department's nonemergency number at 847-658-7908 or send tips anonymously online.
