LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL —The village of Lake in the Hills is looking into demolishing a home and expanding the parking lot at the Lake in the Hills Bark Park on Haligus Road, the Northwest Herald reports. The village has discussed turning the home, which had been leased, into a preschool facility but, after learning it could be hard to bring the building into compliance with the Department of Children and Family Services' standards, the village is now looking at demolition of the home and the expansion of the parking lot

The possibility of a bigger lot was discussed at a Thursday parks and recreation board meeting, according to the newspaper. The Bark Park currently has 15 to 18 parking spots and 700 dogs registered to use the park.
