LITH Police Release Results From Traffic Details
The Lake in the Hills Police Department increased enforcement efforts over the Thanksgiving holiday.
From LITH PD:From November 22 – December 2, 2019, the Lake in the Hills Police Department conducted extra patrols during the Thanksgiving enforcement effort to keep alcohol and drug impaired drivers off the roadways. Extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur. Officers worked an extra 28 hours of enforcement.
During this mobilization, the Lake in the Hills Police Department issued 23 total citations. Officers stopped 27 vehicles for violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code (IVC). Among these violations, one (1) DUI arrest was made and three (3) related citations were issued, two (2) citations were issued for distracted driving, two (2) citations were issued for disobeying a traffic control device, two (2) drivers were cited for no insurance, and 14 drivers were cited for speeding violations. This mobilization was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
