Lockdown At Huntley High Lifted: Police

Police responded to the high school and Leggee Elementary School to investigate a report of a weapon brought to campus.

HUNTLEY, IL —Huntley High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday after receiving a report of a possible weapon being brought to the school, according to police.

The high school was placed on a "hold in place and teach" at about 1:45 p.m. and Leggee Elementary School, which is also located on the Harmony Road Campus, was placed on "secure the building and teach" while the safety concern was investigation. Parents were notified of the situation.

No students, staff, or parents were permitted to leave or enter the buildings and transportation services and dismissal was postponed, according to a post on the Huntley Police Department Facebook page.

At about 3:15 p.m. the lockdown was lifted after Huntley Police Department determined the threat was not credible. Students at Leggee Elementary were also dismissed when no threat to safety was determined, according to police.
