Man Arrested For Going 100 MPH In 50 MPH Zone In LITH: Police

The Lake in the Hills Police Department has released arrest and citation information from its holiday enforcement campaign.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department issued several citations during a holiday traffic campaign with officers logging 32 additional hours as part of the enforcement effort that began on Dec. 18 and continued through Jan. 4, according to a news release from the police department.

During the mobilization, officers stopped 45 vehicles. One person was arrested during the traffic campaign after officers clocked the driver traveling 100 mph in a 50 mph zone, according to police. Authorities say the driver also did not have auto insurance, which is required by law for drivers in the state of Illinois.

In addition, 19 drivers were cited for not wearing their seat belts, 16 were cited for speeding violations and four were cited for not having insurance. Authorities also issued one citation for an electronic communications device violation and another for a center median violation.

There were no arrests made for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
