Massive Drug Bust Turns Up 400 Grams of Heroin in Kane County
Three Minnesota residents face unlawful delivery of controlled substance charges after being pulled over on Wednesday on I-90.

Three Minnesota residents face drug charges after police pulled their vehicle over on Interstate 90 in Kane County and found 400 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $80,000.
Kane County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a 2007 Chevrolet Impala for an equipment violation around 1 p.m. on Wednesday on Interstate 90 near Route 47 in unincorporated Hampshire Township, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

A narcotic detection K9 was deployed around the exterior of the vehicle and the K9 indicated a potential presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, according to the news release.
A search of the vehicle turned up the heroin, a .45 caliber handgun, a 9 mm caliber handgun and $9,000.

Police arrested the driver, Jessica Johnson, 29, of Redby, Minn.; and passengers Leo Cook, 32, of Redby, Minn.; and Derek Paddy, 19, of Red Lake, Minn., according to the news release. They are all charged with unlawful manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, a class x felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 1 felony; and armed violence, a class x felony.
All three were taken to the Kane County Adult Justice Center where they all remained in custody as of Sunday morning on an $800,000 bond.
