Cody J. Matthews, 29, of Marengo, was arrested Tuesday. He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Carl Gordon's death.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 29-year-old Marengo man is among three men who've been arrested in connection with the disappearance and death of a Belvidere man in 2020, authorities said Wednesday.
Cody J. Matthews, of Marengo; Antonie D. Lovelace, 44, of Elgin; and Jerell T. Burnett, 43, of Chicago; were taken into custody on Tuesday. They have been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful restraint and concealment of a homicidal death in connection with Carl Gordon's death.
Gordon, 35, of Belvidere, was reported missing in May 2020 after he visited a Joliet building to get his new Harley-Davidson motorcycle repaired, Joliet Patch reported in 2020. Weeks later, authorities found and recovered his body from the Calumet-Sag Channel.
