McHenry Joins Counties Suing Opioid-Producers

The lawsuit claims that the companies are fueling the opioid epidemic spreading around the country.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County is joining the ranks of other northern Illinois counties as they sue drug companies on the claim that they have helped fuel the opioid epidemic which has become pervasive in the area and across the country.

The announcement is coming Thursday at 10 a.m., the Northwest Herald reported, in the DuPage County Board room.

The other counties involved are Will, DuPage, Kane and Lake. The Herald reported them as saying they are calling it a "major announcement" regarding the lawsuits.

The announcement will mark their joining over 100 cities and states around the country participating in lawsuits against the drug companies, according to governing.com.
