The Algonquin balloon mascot was spotted in Indiana earlier this week.

How far can a floating tooth go in less than week once it’s sampled the sweet taste of freedom?

Mickey the Molar, the 10-foot-by-10-foot tooth balloon that has been the mascot for Dr. Timothy Stirneman’s All Smiles Dental practice in Algonquin for 20 years, was sighted in Indiana and is forecasted be in Ohio next week, according to a representative for the dental office.

The balloon mascot ”escaped” during last Friday’s Founders’ Day festival in Algonquin when it got loose of its tether and floated away. Mickey had been a staple of the Founders’ Day Parade for the past 17 years before it took to the skies to try to start a new life in some faraway land.

Mickey is expected to come back to earth some time in next week in Cincinnati, the rep said. How the dental practice plans to get Mickey back once it makes landfall is undetermined, the rep added.

Anyone with information about Mickey’s whereabouts should contact All Smiles Dental at 847-854-7645.
