Doctor Opens New ‘Concierge’ Medical Practice in Algonquin

A new approach to the primary care physician office is now available in Algonquin

Dr. Christine Mueller, board certified family practice physician, announced this past month the opening of High Touch Medicine at 1482 Merchant Drive, Algonquin. High Touch Medicine is the first “concierge” practice in the immediate area, with personalized customer service being a top priority, according to a press release from High Touch Medicine.

Mueller has more than 25 years of providing comprehensive primary care services in the Elgin area. She chose the concierge model for her new private practice to provide a higher level of personalized service for her patients in a comfortable, home-like environment, according to the news release.

Concierge medicine is a relatively new model of health care delivery that is meant to help increase the level of service to the patient.

“Throughout my years of working in a busy physician practice, I heard patients complain of not being able to get an appointment, long wait times and not being able to fully address concerns because of short appointments,” said Mueller. “With the concierge model, I can provide patients longer, more flexible appointment times, follow-up calls and other personal touches that are challenging to provide in a traditional practice model.”

Mueller highlighted some of the additional services she would provide on the High Touch Medicine website: “At High Touch Medicine, I guarantee easier accessibility with real people answering the phone during office hours and cell phone coverage rather than automated answering services. There will also be more availability of appointment times as there will be a limited number of patients – no more competing with thousands of other patients for a time slot. I anticipate longer appointment slots – 1 hour for physicals, ½ hour for sick visits and 2 hours for initial visits when needed. There will be some flexibility available for urgent matters.”
