Old LITH Playgrounds Now Being Used In Uganda, Haiti

The old playgrounds at LeRoy Guy Park and Normandy Park were donated to the Kids Around the World program.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- The playground equipment pictured above may look familiar to local residents. But the location of the equipment may not. The village of Lake in the Hills partnered with a program called Kids Around the World recycles to have the old LeRoy Guy Park playground moved to its new home in Gulu, Uganda, according to a recent post on the Lake in the Hills Facebook page.

The Kids around the World program recycles and reuses old playground equipment by reinstalling it in disadvantaged communities.

When the village replaced LeRoy Guy Park’s playground in 2017, the old equipment was donated to the program.
