Orphans of the Storm "Clear the Shelter" Adoption Event

Orphans of the Storm (OOTS), one of the best respected and largest animal shelters in the Chicago area, will waive adoption fees for anyone looking to bring an adult cat or dog into their family when it participates in the nationwide “Clear the Shelters,” day on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 – 7 p.m. Orphans of the Storm is located at 2200 Riverwoods Road in Riverwoods.
A first-of-its-kind pet adoption initiative in the Chicago area, presented in partnership with NBC 5 Chicago / WMAQ and Telemundo Chicago / WSNS, the goal of the event is to find as many homes for loving, adoptable adult dogs and cats on this day by waiving the typical $90 adoption fees. (Routine medical expenses still apply.) The event will also be an opportunity for families to tour OOTS beautiful Lake County facility, as well as engage in a variety of fun activities for the whole family, including an ice cream social, meet-and-greets with the pets and OOTS’s staff, volunteers and veterinarians, raffles with prize giveaways and more.
