Port Barrington Man Killed in Boat Crash on Fox River
The crash happened in Trout Valley Friday evening.

A 67-year-old Port Barrington man is dead after a boat crash Friday evening on the Fox River.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Marine deputies were called to a boat crash shortly after 3 p.m. Friday that happened on the Fox River near the 200 block of River Road in Trout Valley.
The boat crashed bow first into a concrete pier and concrete post. The male, who was the sole occupant of the boat, was thrown into the water. Two people rescued the and from the water and were administering CPR when deputies and fire personnel arrived.

The Cary Fire Protection District transported the male to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There were no signs of foul play and impairment due to drugs or alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
The investigation is being conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
