Algonquin Police Will Enforce Stay At Home Order: Schmitt
Vital village services, like water, sewer and public safety, will continue to be offered, village officials said.
ALGONQUIN, IL — Algonquin Village President John Schmitt assured residents all essential village services, including public safety and a safe water supply, will continue to be offered during the state's Stay at Home order, which took effect at 5 p.m. Saturday. He also encouraged residents to keep their children at home, and urged people to comply with Gov. JB Pritzker's order.
And if they do not, he said the Algonquin Police Department will assist in "the implementation of this order." Specifics on how local officers will go about enforcing the stay at home order were not immediately available.

All village facilities in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will remain closed to the public. But vital services will continue to be offered.
Algonquin: Police Department, Garbage Pickup
The police department will remain open. All non-emergency crimes or crimes that are not currently in progress should be reported via the police department's non-emergency number at 847-658-4531.

Plans are in place for water, sewer and public safety services to continue without incident in Algonquin, according to the village's website. Non-emergency staff will be available during regular business hours to assist residents by phone, email or by appointment as appropriate.
Groot collection will continue on schedule in Algonquin. Services such as utility bill payment can all be completed through the village’s website, via the village’s drop-box or by mail – village of Algonquin, 2200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, IL 60102. The village is strongly encouraging residents and businesses to use online services as much as possible.
The village’s online service request portal has several categories of service requests available. If you need assistance with services such as processing a payment online or via mail, you can contact the village with any inquiries.
As this is an ongoing situation, the village will continue to share updates on its website at www.algonquin.org and on social media. Residents are encouraged to sign-up for village e-news via the village website as well.

Lake in the Hills: Water Shutoffs Suspended
Staff will continue to provide services to residents, businesses, and the community via email and telephone. Staff can be reached at 847-960-7400 and additional contact information is available at lith.org/contact-us.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to conduct business through the village's website, such as making payments or applying for permits. Online services may be accessed by visiting lith.org/resourcecenter.
The records division in the upper lobby of the police station will have reduced hours of operation until further notice and will work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The lower lobby will remain open to the public 24/7 but residents are encouraged to take advantage of online services. Freedom of Information requests may be submitted via JustFOIA (https://lakeinthehillsil.justfoia.com/publicportal/home/newrequest).
At this time, all village water shutoffs and late fees have been suspended for 45 days. Water bills can be paid online and at the drop box at village hall, 600 Harvest Gate, is still available to drop off payments.
Both First National Bank locations, as well as the Home State Bank within Lake in the Hills, may also be utilized as drop off locations.
Building permits and essential inspections continue through the village’s community development division. Residents and contractors may utilize the village's public portal for online permits, scheduling inspections, and for license applications.
The village has PDF building permit applications available online for projects not available through the public portal. Completed applications and materials may be emailed to cd@lith.org.
Oversized permit application materials, such as plans and blueprints, may be submitted utilizing the drop box located at the Village Hall driveway entrance. For plans that are too large for the dropbox, please contact the customer service division at 847-960-7400 to coordinate delivery options.
