Snowstorm To Affect Garbage, Recycling Pickup In Algonquin

ALGONQUIN, IL — There will be no trash or recycling pickup in the village of Algonquin Friday due to a massive snowstorm in the forecast for the area.

Groot, which provides the trash and recycling pickup for the village, has canceled its services for that day and will be offering trash and recycling pickup on Thursday instead of Friday, according to a news release. Residents who typically put their garbage out on Friday should instead have their trash and recycle containers at the curb by 7 a.m. Thursday.

If you normal collection day is Thursday, Groot will still be picking up trash and recycling on that day, according to the news release.
