The Village of Lake in the Hills is closely monitoring information regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Currently, there are NO cases of COVID-19 in McHenry County.

Information on COVID-19 is best attained through the multiple public health agencies monitoring the situation. A series of FAQs are linked below. The McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are monitoring COVID-19 and its impact throughout the area and in Illinois.

PREVENTION

• Stay informed by checking the CDC's website and its social media pages for the most recent information
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap is unavailable
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Stay home when you are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
