Visions for Vacancies: Former Hollywood Video

The retail space formerly occupied by Hollywood Video on Randall Road in Lake in the Hills has been vacant for close to two years. What business would you like to see move into that space?

The location of the former Hollywood Video at 261 N. Randall Road in Lake in the Hills has sat vacant for roughly two years.

Since then, the village of Lake in the Hills has taken a number of steps to attract a new business to the location.

“We attend yearly trade shows and conventions to try and help market the property, in addition to sending out marketing packages to retailers expanding in the Chicago area,” said Dan Olsen, director of community development for the village of Lake in the Hills.

Olsen said the spot has good vision and visibility off of Randall Road, which can be enticing to a number of types of businesses, including restaurants, furniture stores, or even an auto parts store.

“We have been working with Edgemark Realty who represents the space, and there have been a few inquiries but nothing solid as of yet,” Olsen said.
