The voting covers eight categories, like best new business and best personal services business.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Are there any particular businesses in Algonquin you think are worthy of special recognition? If they're Chamber of Commerce members, and have been nominated for one of eight categories, they may be up for an award.

The voting takes place in eight categories, like best new business, best big business, best retailer and more.

The Algonquin Chamber of Commerce website's voting page allows you to choose between three businesses for each of the eight categories. The categories and nominees are listed below, and you can vote here.

The voting form asks voters to comment on why they chose the businesses they did in each category. "How do they serve the community? Rate their customer service," the website says.
