Fire officials say mobility and medical problems prevented the woman from being able to escape the blaze on Papoose Road.
CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — A 65-year-old Carpentersville woman died in an early morning fire after medical problems and mobility issues prevented her from being able to get out of her single-family home in time, fire officials said.
Firefighters tried to rescue Linda Nordstrom from the fire, which was reported at 2:45 a.m., in the house in the 700 block of Papoose Road but were unable to successfully get her out, the Daily Herald is reporting. Her husband, Robert, was able to escape the blaze.
The home is considered a total loss.
