ALSIP, IL -- Alsip police used Narcan to revive a driver after he crashed into another vehicle in a gas station parking lot while overdosing on heroin, prosecutors said.
Richard Fitzpatrick, 21, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alsip police responded to a report of an accident around 3 p.m. Wednesday.
When Alsip police arrived at the Citgo Station at 117th Street and Pulaski Road, they found Fitzpatrick unconscious but breathing in the driver’s seat of his car, the prosecutor said. Officers revived Fitzpatrick with Narcan nasal spray. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where blood draws and urine samples were taken.
