Alsip-Crestwood Enact Snow Parking Rules Heading Into Holiday Weekend

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — The impending storm of a generation will most likely mean that Alsip’s and Crestwood’s snow parking rules will go into effect along designated snow routes. A winter storm warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.

The Village of Alsip is asking residents to remove their vehicles from the streets, if they haven’t done so already, by Thursday evening. Residents are required to move their cars off the street after 1-inch of snow fall.

Plow drivers in Alsip have no problem plowing in cars that are illegally parked. Such vehicles also risk being ticketed and towed. In addition to not parking on Crestwood streets after two inches of snowfall, vehicles are prohibited from parking for longer than three minutes to pick up or drop off passengers, or 30 minutes to unload groceries or other property. The rules apply when snow begins to fall and for a period of up to eight hours after the snow stops falling after two or more inches of snow.
