Alsip-Crestwood Prepare To Enact Snow Parking Rules

Parking is prohibited on Crestwood and Alsip streets after two inches of snowfall.

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL -- With Saturday’s anticipated snowfall, parking is prohibited on Crestwood and Alsip streets during snow removal operations. Illegally parked vehicles on the street are cited by snow plow drivers as the number one hinderance to removing snow in an efficient fashion.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect through noon Saturday, Jan. 19, for the Alsip-Crestwood area. Heavy snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches and gusting winds up to 35 mph are in the forecast.

Plow drivers in Alsip have no problem plowing in cars that are illegally parked. Such vehicles also risk being ticketed and towed. According to the Village of Alsip, it takes about 12 hours to clean the streets after four to six inches of snow. Read more frequently asked questions about Alsip snow removal.
