Alsip-Crestwood Schools Call e-Learning Ahead Of Winter Storm: UPDATED

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — School districts are starting to announce closings in anticipation of a winter storm on Friday that could dump up to nine inches of snow in parts with 50 mph wind gusts of the Chicago area.

Winter storm watches have been issued beginning late Thursday evening into early Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

While school buildings will be closed, e-Learning will be in effect Friday, gypping kids out of an actual snow day.

Here are the school closings for Friday, Jan. 12, in Alsip-Crestwood:

CHSD 218, Richards, Shepard and Eisenhower high schools - schools closed, e-Learning

Atwood Heights School Dist. 125

Alsip Hazelgreen Oak Lawn Dist. 126 - closed, e-Learning

Mother McAuley High School - closed, e-Learning

St. Laurence High School (Burbank) - closed, e-Learning

Elim Christian Services (Palos Heights) - closed through Monday

St. Benedict School (Blue Island) - Closed (traditional snow day)

Saint Xavier University (Chicago) - e-Learning

Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights) - e-Learning
