Alsip, Crestwood Trash Pick-Up Delayed 1 Day For New Year's Day

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL —If your garbage pick-up falls on a Tuesday, bring your cans to the curb on Monday evening, as you would any other week. Republic Services will be collecting trash in Alsip and Crestwood on Dec. 24.

Republic Services observes the following national holidays, which includes New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Christmas Day falls on Wednesday in 2019. Waste collection will be delayed one day. If your trash pick-up falls on one of these holidays, your collection day that week will be delayed by one day, with Friday collections being collected on Saturday.

Service for residents with Wednesday, Thursday or Friday trash pick up will be picked up the day after their regularly scheduled trash collection. For those of us with Monday and Tuesday collection, we’ll just have to wait until next week for our wrapping paper and Christmas leftovers to be collected.

The same applies for Tuesday, Dec.31.
