Alsip Fire Department Holds Open Forum for Businesses on Proposed Inspection Fees
Business owners and operators are invited to an open forum on July 14 to learn more about proposed changes to fire inspection fees.

ALSIP, IL -- The Alsip Fire Department is hosting an open forum for business owners and operators on proposed changes to fire inspection fees for annual inspections. The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Alsip Village Hall, 4500 W. 123rd St.
Business owners and operators will hear a presentation comparing Alsip’s proposed fire inspection fees to other communities. The following fees for an initial inspection and one follow-up inspection have been proposed, including:
Hotels and Motels
Total common areas less than 1,500 square feet - $50
Total common areas 1,500-5,000 square feet - $100
Total common areas over 5,000 square feet - $150

Commercial Businesses
Under 1,000 square feet - $25
1,000-5,000 square feet - $50
5,000-100,000 square feet - $100
Over 100,000 square feet - $200
In buildings with multiple businesses, the building owner is responsible for total square footage of common areas.

Industrial Businesses
Under 5,000 square feet - $50
5,000-25,000 square feet - $100
25,000-100,000 square feet - $150
Over 100,000 square feet - $250
In buildings with multiple businesses, the building owner is responsible for total square footage of common areas.
If additional re-inspections are required:
Second re-inspection* - $75
Third re-inspection* - $75
*If the inspector feels there has been no progress made, a citation may also be issued.
