Alsip Man Scares Woman By Crawling Into Her Bed Uninvited: Cops

The woman woke up to an "unknown object" lying next to her, only to discover that it was her daughter's ex-boyfriend, police said.

ALSIP, IL -- An Alsip man is accused of trespassing into a residence and crawling into bed uninvited with his ex-girlfriend's mother. Mike Stennis, 23, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of criminal trespassing to a residence. Stennis is currently on probation for the same offense, the prosecutor said.

The woman was asleep around 4 a.m. Sept. 3, when she woke up and “felt an unknown object in bed,” the prosecutor said. The woman told police that she recognized the “object” lying next to her as Stennis, who used to date her daughter. Stennis reportedly shooshed the woman and told her he needed to get his T-shirt. The woman screamed, alerting her sister who was downstairs watching TV. Stennis ran out of the house, the prosecutor said.

Stennis was picked up on an arrest warrant. The prosecutor said Stennis pleaded guilty in 2016 to two felony counts of criminal trespassing to a residence, and was sentenced to two years of probation, the assistant public defender said.

Felice offered to sign an order for Stennis to receive a mental health evaluation at Cook County Jail. Stennis is being held without bond on a probation violation. The judge set bail on the new case at $50,000. A bond review is scheduled for Nov. 14 in Bridgeview. Stennis was told not to have any contact with the woman.
