Alsip Park District Seeks Counselors-In-Training For Summer Camp
Teens entering the tenth and eleventh grades are invited to apply as counselors-in-training for Alsip Park District's summer camp program.
ALSIP, IL — Become a role model and enjoy the best summer of your life by as a counselor-in-training for the Alsip Park District’s summer day camp program. The park district is accepting applications now from teens entering their sophomore and junior year of high school.
The counselor-in-training program is designed for teens who wish to develop leadership and communication skills, gain experience in planning, and instruct a variety of activities. A positive, cooperative attitude is required for this position. Program participation as based on an application and interview process.
Mandatory training will be held the week of June 1. All summer camp staff, including CITs, must participate in mandatory training during the first week of June. Counselors-in-training will also become CPR/First-Aid/AED-certified during the training week, if they are not already.

Teens will work 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Counselors-in-training will also be required to work either one pre-camp session (7 to 9 a.m.) or one post-camp session (3 to 6 p.m.) per week.
All applications will be reviewed and interviews scheduled by the Alsip Park District. Please note that two letters of recommendation are required, such as a coach, teacher, counselor, family friend or neighbor. If accepted, teens will be contacted by the Alsip Park District camp coordinator.

Complete the application and drop it off in person at the Apollo Recreation Center, 12521 S. Kostner Ave., Alsip, or email rperkaus@alsipparks.org. The deadline to apply is May 1.
