Alsip Police Collecting New Toys and Books For Children At Risk
Alsip police are collected new toys and books for bring some holiday cheer served by ChildServ and Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation.

ALSIP, IL -- Alsip police officers are collecting new, unwrapped toys and books for children of all ages to send to ChildServ and the Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation. Residents can drop off toys in boxes through Dec. 10 at Alsip Village Hall, 4500 W. 123rd St. The boxes are located across from the village clerk’s office.
ChildServ is a historic non-profit organization founded in 1894 that serves children at risk in Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake Counties. The organization provides in-depth, community-based programs, including foster care and adoption services, counseling, residential group homes, community support, and early childhood education to vulnerable children and families.
The Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation offers support and assistance to children ages 7-17 whose parent, legal guardian, or sibling fell victim to homicide. The foundation officers a bereavement camp and college scholarship program to help transform a child’s tragedy into a bright future.

Toys and books can dropped off at Alsip Village Hall during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. For more information, contact Officer R. Merlo at 708-385-6902, ext. 249 or email rmerlo@villageofalsip.org.
