Alsip Woman Charged in Car Burglary
Assistant public defender tells judge alleged burglary was a "miscommunication."

ALSIP, IL -- An Alsip woman was charged with burglary after she allegedly entered a vehicle with the owner's permission and removed an album of CDs.
According to the charges, police responded to a burglary in progress in the 4600 block of West 122nd St. around 3:22 a.m. Dec. 9. When officers arrived, they saw Stawicki standing near a parked vehicle holding an album of CDs.
Asked where she had retrieved the album, Stawicki allegedly pointed to a white Buick. The prosecutor said the owner of the Buick did not give Stawicki permission to the enter the car.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Stawicki was the sole caregiver of her children. The attorney said that a friend told Stawicki to get the CDs out of the car.
“She’s the sole caregiver of her children and she’s out at 3:22 a.m.,” Cook County Judge Donald Havis said.

Stawicki was released on a $10,000 I-bond. Her next hearing is Dec. 20.
