Discovery of pot, crack and gun made after police pulled Markham man's car over for having extremely dark tinted windows, prosecutor said.

ALSIP, IL -- A Markham man rolled through Alsip with a gun, ammo, crack and a large quantity of cannabis in his glove box, prosecutors said. Nelson Serrano, 25, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on felony charges of armed violence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Around 7:46 p.m. July 18, police say they observed a vehicle with extremely dark tinted windows traveling in the 4200 block of West 119th Street in Alsip. The prosecutor said that when officers pulled the driver over, later identified a Serranto, they detected an odor of both burnt and raw cannabis inside the vehicle. Officers also noticed what appeared to be a trace amounts of pot on the front floorboards.
Police searched Serrano’s vehicle, they found $410 in cash, baggies, cannabis, a loaded magazine and a loaded 9mm handgun in the glove box, the prosecutor said. A black Adidas gym bag on the back seat further revealed six additional bags containing 358 grams of cannabis, and 28 grams of suspected crack cocaine, according to the charges.
