Join Alsip Police for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 6, featuring snacks, train rides, game trailer, K-9 demos and more

ALSIP, IL -- Join the Alsip Police Department for snacks, train rides, game trailer, touch-a-truck, DJ and reptile show for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 6. The public safety event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Mulberry Street, between Orchard and 44th Place.

Immediately following Alsip PD's National Night Out is a "dive in" pool party and movie from 8:15 to 10 p.m. at Sprayfari Aquatic Park, 11930 S. Kostner Ave. (Proof of residency required.)

The Alsip Police Department will be providing giveaways, activities, and community service information. The Alsip Safety Express trackless safety train will be providing free rides to community youth in an effort to create train safety awareness. Police station tours will be available, along with Kid Trax Dodge Charger Police Car and Kid Motorz Police motorcycle riding toy. Get your mug drawn or painted by a caricature artist or face painter.

Since 1984, police departments and communities across the United States have held National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August. More than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities throughout the nation will participate in National Night Out promoting public safety and building community.
