Coronavirus In Alsip-Crestwood: 6 Cases Alsip, Crestwood 1-4
A new map released by the Cook County Department of Public Health tracks confirmed coronavirus cases in suburban Cook County.

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — Oak Lawn has fewer detected COVID-19 infections than some of its neighbors, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
A new surveillance map released by the health department tracks confirmed coronavirus cases by municipality across suburban Cook County. The map includes municipalities and portions of municipalities within suburban Cook, except for Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie and Stickney Township, each of which has its own state-certified local health department.
As of March 30, there were a total of 1,346 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in suburban Cook County and 24 deaths. Twenty congregate settings, such as long term care facilities or nursing homes, are reporting one or more confirmed cases.

Alsip had six and Crestwood reported fewer than 4 COVID-19 cases.

Neighboring Orland Park led the area with 23 cases, while Tinley Park and Oak Lawn each reported 20. Evergreen Park had eight cases, Oak Forest reported 15 and Lemont has 10 cases. Palos Hills reported 13 cases of COVID-19 Monday afternoon, according to the health department's map. Palos Heights had 11 cases, while Palos Park had fewer than four.
According to the data, nearly 60 percent of all detected COVID-19 cases in suburban Cook County have been people between the ages of 40 and 69.
More than 10 percent of COVID-19 cases with known hospitalization status required treatment in intensive care, according to the health department data. Almost 40 percent have been hospitalized at some point. Hospitalization data was only available for about half of the known case.
Nearly 78 percent of the confirmed cases in suburban Cook County have an unknown origin, according to the health department data. That means over 1,000 such cases were potentially caused by the community spread of the virus.
