Crestwood Cops Taze Fleeing Man Inside Best Buy: Prosecutor
Prosecutor said Oak Lawn man's ex-girlfriend contacted her violating order of protection.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Crestwood police pursued a man fleeing arrest for violating an order of protection into a store where he was tased after he refused to stop running prosecutors said.
Patrick Miller, 25, of Oak Lawn, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor charges resisting arrest, obstructing ID and violating an order of protection.
According to the charges, Miller’s ex-girlfriend called police on Oct. 30 when he sent text messages in violation of two-year protection order from July. The woman told police that Miller could be found in front of the Best Buy and Ultra Foods at 13130 S. Cicero Ave., Crestwood.

Miller allegedly ran into the Best Buy when he saw police arrive. Police pursued him into the store and noticed that Miller was carrying something in his hand, that turned out to be ten baggies containing a white powdery substance that later tested positive for Oxycontin, the prosecutor said.
The prosecutor said that Miller ignored officers’ commands to stop, who were forced to deploy their Tasers inside the Best Buy. When police took Miller into custody, he allegedly gave them a fake name.
