Crestwood Man Eats 15 Pints of Ice Cream In Six Minutes In Indiana State Fair Contest

Major League Eater Juan "More Bite" places second in competitive ice cream eating contest at the Indiana State Fair.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- No stranger to the professional competitive eating circuit, a 34-year-old Crestwood man placed second in the Prairie Farms World Ice Cream Eating Contest at the Indiana State Fair. Juan “More Bite” Rodriguez ate an astonishing 15 pints of ice cream in six minutes. That’s 2.5 pints of ice cream per minute.

The Major League Eating event took place Saturday, Aug. 13, in Indianapolis. Rodriguez was one pint shy of the first place champ, Miki Sudo, of Las Vegas, NV, who devoured a record-breaking 16.5 pints of ice cream in Saturday’s contest. (Rodriguez tied the old world record of 15.)

Known for his rippling torso and striking good looks when his face isn’t smeared with ice cream or hot dog juice, the 165-pound Rodriguez is currently ranked 12th in the world of competitive eating, according to Major League Eating, the world body that oversees all professional eating events.

The Crestwood man also devoured an impressive 33 Original Nathan’s Hot Dogs at the annual Fourth of July contest at New York City’s Coney Island. A personal trainer by trade, Rodriguez is a weapon of mass digestion. He doesn’t understand why people cancel their training sessions at the last minute.
