Crestwood Police Host Shredding Fundraiser For Special Olympics

Crestwood police to host shredding fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois this Saturday, June 9. Bring your old documents for shredding.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- The Crestwood Police Department will host a shredding event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Onsite shredding will take place at the police station, 13840 South Cicero Ave., Crestwood. The cost is $10 for the first box, and $5 for each additional box. All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

Gather all those old boxes of bills, credit card statements, bank statements and anything else that could be used to steal your identity if fallen into nefarious hands. The Shred Authority will have a shredding truck onsite and you can watch as your old documents pass through the shredder and into the truck.

A banker box is preferred, or something close its dimensions of 12 X 10 X 15 inches is preferred. Also remove any staples or paper clips from your documents.

Phone and utility bills
Retail invoices and statements
Tax returns and statements
Medical bills
Insurance claim information
Insurance policy information (auto, health, life)
Expired identification documents (driver’s licenses and passports)
