IDOT Announces Lane Closures on 147th Street for Resurfacing Work
The Illinois Department of Transportation will be resurfacing 147th Street in Midlothian causing local traffic delays.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL -- Starting this week, daily lane closures will be taking place on 147th Street (Illinois 83) from Kilpatrick Avenue to Kedzie Avenue in Midlothian. The The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced the closures are necessary for a resurfacing project along 147th Street. The closures are expected to take place throughout the week of July 17, weather permitting.
The lane closures will take place in the daytime, during which time traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction when necessary. The scope of the project consists of resurfacing and pavement marking, as well as curb and gutter replacement. The overall project is expected to be completed in Fall 2017.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
