The position offers great starting pay. RECENT! The DuPage County Coroner’s Office in Wheaton is looking for a full-time deputy coroner. Responsibilities include performing investigations into the cause and manner of death, including deaths that are suspicious or criminal in nature, fetal deaths, where the decedent was not attended to by a licensed physician or where the physician’s cannot determine the cause; processing specimens; ordering autopsies and X-rays, arranging pickups at funeral homes and morgues, and reporting to other agencies; and assisting in pathological exams. One year of investigative training either in a private agency or with a police department is desired, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
