National Night Out Activities Planned Aug. 1 in Alsip and Crestwood
Alsip and Crestwood police are planning National Night Out festivities for their respective communities on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Since 1984, police departments and communities across the United States have held National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August. More than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities throughout the nation will participate in some National Night Out activities promoting community building and public safety, which this year falls on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
Alsip
Join the Alsip Police Department for snacks, train rides, game trailer, touch-a-truck, car show and magic show for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1. The public safety event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Orchard Avenue, between 122nd and 123rd Streets.
Immediately following Alsip PD’s National Night Out is a “dive in” movie from 8:15 to 10 p.m. at Sprayfari Aquatic Park, 11930 S. Kostner Ave.

Crestwood
Crestwood will hold National Night Out festivities from 6 to 9 p.m. at Walker Park, 14065 Waterbury Dr. The Crestwood Police and Crestwood Fire Departments, public works and other local business are planning a fun-filled family evening.
As in past years, the public safety event is FREE, featuring displays, information booths, music and games for all who attend. Hot dogs, burgers and other refreshments will be served. Police will also be drawing winners from the annual Crestwood Police Association raffle at 8: 30 p.m. Tickets will be available on site.
