• Cook County School District 130 community call for cleaner schools during Board of Education meeting (cbsnews.com) — Families in Alsip's District 130 are raising alarms about filthy school conditions after the board cut about 30 union custodians and shifted to an outside cleaning company. At a packed board meeting, teachers, parents, and students from Alsip and neighboring towns demanded cleaner buildings and the rehiring of custodians, while the board president blamed delays on background checks and said no decisions have been made yet.
