Presta Named 'Muncipal Leader of the Year' By IL Crime Commission
Mayor Lou Presta honored by Illinois Crime Commission for efforts to lower crime in Cook County and modernize police departments.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Crestwood Mayor Lou Presta was named the 2018 Municipal Leader of the Year by the Illinois State Crime Commission. Presta was chosen as recipient of the prestigious award based on his work to lower crime in Cook County and modernize law enforcement agencies.
He continues to advocate for increased policing and better equipment and training for law enforcement officers in Cook County, the crime commission said. Presta will be honored at the Illinois State Crime Commission’s annual “Salute To Those Who Make A Difference” awards dinner at the Drury Lane Theatre and Conference Center in Oakbrook, in June.
Presta is running in the upcoming March 20 Democratic primary for sixth district seat on the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
