Starter Pistol Fired During Confrontation, Vehicle Damaged: Alsip PD

Alsip police are seeking information on a teen who may have fired a starter pistol early Saturday in Linecrest Manor area.

ALSIP, IL — While on patrol, Alsip police officers heard shots fired early Saturday morning in an apartment complex. Police are now asking for the public’s help in finding the alleged shooter.

Around 4 a.m., officers heard shots being fired in the Linecrest Manor area near 119th Street and Keeler Avenue. When officers arrived, they encountered an involved party, who told them that a teen shot at him in the 11700 block of South Tripp Avenue and damaged his car, police said.

While talking to the person who was shot at, police discovered the teen with the gun had displayed a starter pistol and possibly fired it in the other person's direction during a confrontation. Police said the teen fired several shots that struck the involved person’s vehicle.

The involved person was not injured. Officers found his vehicle a few blocks away, where they located several shell casings on the ground. The involved person was not injured.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his late teens with a thin mustache. He was last seen wearing black pants and a long black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head. Witnesses told police they saw the suspected running through people’s yards in the 11700 block of Tripp Avenue.
