Svengoolie Appears 'Friday the 13th' At ThunderBolts Game

CRESTWOOD, IL -- It will be Halloween in July, when Chicago TV legend Svengoolie appears at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood in what will be one of the scariest night of the season this Friday the 13th (July 13). The Windy City ThunderBolts will be taking on the Joliet Slammers for an evening of exciting Frontier League baseball. Kids are invited to participate in pre-game costume parade on the field. Also, don’t be surprised if a clammy hand taps you on the shoulder, as scary characters will be roaming the stands throughout the game.

The costume parade will start at 6:15 p.m. behind home plate. Kids participating in the parade will also get a free hot dog and soday. Candy will be given away throughout the park for trick-or-treating. Svengoolie and his rubber chicken will signing autographs and greeting his biggest fans from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. There is NO CHARGE for pictures/autographs; complimentary picture cards will be distributed. Pick yourself up a Svengoolie for $20 or a poster for $15.

The T-Bolts will be wearing special Svengoolie game jerseys during the game, that will be silently auctioned off with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Illinois. Stick around for the ThunderBolts’ famous fireworks show and, of course, kids can run the bases after the game. You can’t beat fun at the old ballpark.
