High schoolers and friend accused of stealing man's car from Crestwood towing yard.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Three teens were arrested on March 14 after a wild pursuit in a vehicle carjacked from a Crestwood tow yard, prosecutors said.
Treshawn Boykin, 19, of Worth, and his 18-year-old friends, Tony Calyen, of Dixmoor, and Kenyon Clemons, of Crestwood, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking.
The prosecutor said that a man was transferring belongings from his wife’s car into his own vehicle at Big Tows Towing on the Midlothian Turnpike in Crestwood. The man left his car running when the three teens allegedly got into the vehicle.

The teens were taken into custody after allegedly crashing into a Blue Island squad car. Police recovered a 9mm snake skin gun from the car, according to the charges.
The prosecutor said that the man was able to positively identify Clemons as the individual with the gun. Clemons also allegedly admitted to pointing the gun.
Boykin allegedly told police that he and his friends were looking for a car to heist so they could go for a joyride. Calyen said the car was running so he got into it, the prosecutor said.
None of the teens has a criminal background. Clemons and Calyen are seniors at Thornton High School and said to be doing well in school, according to their attorneys.
Calyen’s attorney asked for electronic home monitoring so his client could graduate from high school in June.
“What makes this terrible in the gun,” Judge Felice said.
Bail for the three was set at $150,000 each, plus electronic home monitoring if they bond out. The teens were also ordered to have no contact with the man whose car they allegedly stole.
The three are due back in court April 7 in Bridgeview.
