Urban Plunge Dives In To Spend Day of Giving At Sertoma Centre

Alsip, IL -- Urban Plunge came in big numbers to Sertoma Centre for a day of giving back to start the New Year. The group visited individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who were participating in programs at Sertoma’s 123rd Street facility in Alsip.

The group took on the task of taking down Christmas decorations throughout the facility and lovingly packing them up for next year. Members Jennifer Fitzgerald and Carol Wendling, of Tinley Park, brought their children along as their education continues in the many rewarding benefits of giving back through volunteerism.

The Urban Plunge is a one-credit, experiential- learning course designed to give youth, via church or other organizations, a brief but important opportunity to engage with communities.
