Village of Alsip Accepting Donations for Hurricane Harvey Victims
Alsip is partnering with O'Connell's Pub Time and Disaster Relief Fund to run supplies to the Texas Gulf Coast. Drop of donations by Sept. 6

ALSIP, IL -- The Village of Alsip is partnering with O’Connell’s Pub Time and the Disaster Relief Fund to send a truck of supplies to the Texas Gulf Coast for residents impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Residents may drop off donated items or monetary donations at Alsip Village Hall, 4500 W. 123rd St. Tens of thousands of Texas residents along the gulf coast have lost their homes or are in temporary housing and shelters waiting to see what’s left of their homes.
Donations may be dropped off until Sept. 6. A truck will pushing for the Houston metro area and other communities along the hurricane-ravaged gulf coast. Supplies may be dropped off during the following hours:
- Tuesday, Sept. 5, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 6, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
First responders and relief organizations are NOT accepting such items as toys, dishes, or furniture at this time. However, suggested donations include:

- Personal Care - toothbrushes/toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorants, tampons/pads, body lotion, adult diapers, sunscreen, chapstick (full size items preferred)
- Cleaning Supplies - bleach, disinfectant wipes, sponges, buckets
- Baby needs - diapers, wipes, ready to eat formula, baby food, formula
- Pet Supplies - leashes, collars, bowls, food, pet shampoo
- Food - non-perishable, ready-to-eat, including snack crackers, granola bars, nuts, dried fruit, applesauce, fruit cups, canned goods, water
- Condiments - ketchup, mustard, honey, peanut butter, jelly, pickles, relish
- Clothes - gently used clothing, socks (new), underwear (new), shoes, towels
- Miscellaneous - batteries, solar power phone chargers, life jackets, tools, work gloves, masks (N95), First Aid items, garbage bags, tarps, cots, totes to organize, blankets (new), pillows (new), sleeping bags (new), gas cans
The village is also requesting Pilot gas cards. Penske has donated the trucks. Round trip coasts to get one truck to Texas and back will run about $1,300. Visit the Village of Alsip to view the complete list of suggested donated items.
