Warrant Issued For Man Tied To Shell Station Shooting: Police
Alsip police say they have identified the suspect in a gas station shooting that left a 22-year-old man seriously injured.
ALSIP, IL — A no-bond warrant has been issued for a man believed to be involved in a shooting on Nov. 21 at an Alsip gas station, that left a 22-year-old man seriously injured.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved felony charges of attempted murder for William Snodey, also known as William Searcy, Thursday evening. Alsip police did not give an age for Snodey, but public records place a man with the same name in his late 30s and living in the Alsip area.
Around 6 p.m. Nov. 21, witnesses told Alsip police that a man, later identified as Snodey, was engaged in a loud argument with an employee at the Shell station at 117th Street and Pulaski Road. Police allege that Snodey became confrontational with other customers in the store, including a female customer.

The 22-year-old man was leaving the store when Snodey returned, police said he shot the younger man in his legs and feet, who faces a long recovery from his gunshot wounds. Witnesses told police that a black man who appeared to be in his 30s or 40s fled the gas station, heading south on Pulaski.
Witnesses alleged to police that Snodey made a statement when he shot the young man, "this will teach you to mind your own business."
Alsip police stated in an updated community alert on Dec. 1 that they had identified a suspect and were seeking an arrest warrant. On Thursday, Cook County prosecutors were at the Alsip police station interviewing witnesses who were at the Shell station the night of the shooting.
Police think Snodey may have left the area and are asking for the public’s help in locating him. Anyone with information on Snodey’s whereabouts is asked in to call the Alsip Police Department at 708-385-6131; tip line at 708-385-6902, ext 272; or 911.
