White Supremacist Fliers Found on Cars in Crestwood: Reports

Fliers were reportedly distributed by the Racial Nationalist Party of America. An application for the Ku Klux Klan also found.

CRESTWOOD, IL — A woman leaving a store in Crestwood Wednesday afternoon said she found a recruitment flier from a white supremacist organization placed on her windshield, NBC 5 Chicago reports.

The flier indicated it was distributed by the Racial Nationalist Party of America, titled “Race and Civilization” and proclaimed “history is on our side.” The group portends to be based in Lockport, New York.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the group consists of fewer than five people and merged with other white supremacist groups to form the Aryan Nationalist Alliance following a rally in Rome, Georgia, over the summer.

Camille Frazier told NBC she was walking to her car in the Rivercrest Shopping Center when a man drove by and shouted a racial slur. When she got to her car, she found the application laying on the ground.

“The social climate that we are in right now—I fear for my children—I fear for my own safety,” Frazier said.

Another woman, Jamie Gill, said that she, too, found similar fliers placed on car windshields a week after the presidential election in the Applebee’s parking lot at 4937 Cal Sag Road, Crestwood.

Gill also said she also found an application for the Ku Klux Klan laying on the ground in the parking lot. The fliers stressed the importance of uplifting the white race, NBC 5 Chicago reported.

The Southern Poverty Law Center says it has documented 701 hate incidents since the presidential election, gathered from news media accounts, social media and its hate intake center.

Crestwood police told the TV news station that no one has reported or complained about racist literature being distributed in the village.
